My suggestion:
1. Rent a Penske truck from Home Depot. It costs around $30 per day, plus $1 per mile for a local move. They have large trucks in good condition that run on gas (rather than diesel) and drive like a car. Penske is great for a local move. You drive the truck. Get insurance, $17 per day.
For a long distance move, consider Budget truck, Enterprise, U-Haul, or use ABF and let the professionals do the driving for you.
2. Get local loaders/unloaders at each destination point. A list of companies are available on the U-Haul affiliated website MovingHelp.com http://www.movinghelp.com/. You don't need to rent a U-Haul truck to hire loading/unloading help. Check the reviews and hire a company with a lot of positive reviews. Be sure to check some of their negative reviews too.
